Green T Design Principal & Green Roof Advocate

ABOUT

Calgary, AB, Canada. As a LEED© Accredited Professional and one of the first Green Roof Professionals in her region, Kerry Ross operates Green T Design Inc., a design-build company focused on lessening impacts of buildings on the environment through the continuum of landscape and architecture – green roofs and living walls. In 2004, she co-founded the Alberta Ecoroof Initiative to create a hands-on research and demonstration green roof and a site for experimentation.

A key member of the design team, Kerry currently manages the Vegetated Roof Replacement project on Calgary’s Municipal Hall, a research and demonstration project. She also co-authored green roof guidelines for stormwater management for Calgary, is researching policy development with the Miistakis Institute and the City of Edmonton and is involved in a wide variety of building types and scales in the province of Alberta.

Kerry graduated with a degree in architecture from the Université de Montréal and is working towards a Masters of Science in Geography with an Energy and Environmental Systems specialization to bring greater depth, rigour and focus to her knowledge of living architecture. When she’s not on rooftops, Kerry enjoys sailing, downhill skiing and hiking in the Rockies.
